I THINK I tried to read some of his stories, but I admit they did not "grab" me.<br /><br />While Anderson may well have read some of Lovecraft's stories, it was the works of Kafka and Capek that he had in mind as an inspiration for "Night Piece."<br /><br />I did read a collection of Kafka's stories after I wrote this essay. I thought it right to do so to make sure the quotes I took from the BRITANNICA'S article on Kafka would fit what I wrote about "Night Piece."
